Our mission is to create a network of socially motivated scholars age 3 to 14 that take care of themselves, their community, and the world.
About Us
Heartwise Scholars is the dream school founded by Dr. Crystal Goins while seeking the best educational fit for her five children, ages 3 to 10. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, her family has explored Montessori, public, private, and homeschool co-ops, adapting to their unique needs and schedules. Ultimately, she found that a microschool offered the best balance of freedom and structure. Rooted in intentional relationships, relevance, and research, Heartwise accelerates learning while nurturing intellectual, social, and emotional well-being. By prioritizing holistic student needs, children return home happier and healthier, strengthening family bonds. With an efficient, research-driven model, families and staff enjoy a three-day weekend every week, along with traditional holidays and breaks.
Our Core Values.
Heartwise Scholars has five core values:
Authority, Authenticity, Accountability, Acculturation, and Access.
We believe adults have the authority to lead, teach, coach, encourage, and discipline learners.
We believe all children should feel authentic or true to themselves in the space. No need to code switch to belong. We accept you as you are.
We believe in accountability among teachers, students, and parents. We welcome feedback within the learning process. Mistakes make us stronger. Correction is refinement. Respect and responsibility are pillars to our code of conduct. Holding ourselves accountable for all this learning is essential.
We believe our individual partners' diverse cultures and backgrounds shape our community. Instead of asking our students and families to assimilate to one set of cultural norms, we believe in acculturation. As our school community grows in relationship with each other, we will naturally build a set of shared beliefs and traditions that honor our individual partners and the school community as a whole.
Lastly, we believe in access. Since COVID-19, access to high-quality resources and innovations has been prevalent everywhere. We want to give the next generation permission to lean into this access to create more innovations and job solutions. The more savy our scholars become with the recent technologies and innovations, the better chance they can live a balanced, quality of life in their adult future. We want that healthy work-life balance for all our scholars.
