“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

Relationships + Relevance + Research = 21st Century Learning

  • Relationships.

In a 75-year adult development study at Harvard University, Waldinger and Schulz (2023) determined that the number one indication of a "good life" for adults is the health of their relationships. Why not start developing this principle while they are still children?!?! Dr. Goins specializes in relationship-based classroom management that motivates young scholars to be socially engaged with teachers, peers, and parents towards 21st century learning goals.

  • Relevance.

Cultural relevance evolves from generation to generation especially in the recent decades with Millennials, Gen Z, and , now, Gen Alpha. The younger generations learn and grow in an influencer society with endless access to materials, technology, and new innovations. This affects everything about teaching and learning from student motivation, instructional practices, teaching methods, and wellness. We understand the complexity of being relevant to the next generation’s needs, so they can be inspired to embrace their unlque learning potential to innovate, create, and solve the world’s problems.

  • Research.

Research has advanced rapidly within the last 20+ years in both theory and practice in all areas of education. Dr. Goins applies all the current research in social motivation theory, social emotional learning, restorative practices, the Science of Reading, CRA (concrete, representative, abstract) math, Inquiry-based Science, and culturally responsive teaching. In addition, the school is committed to teaching the 2023 VA Standards of Learning because the standards are research-based to emphasize skills and essential knowledges that students must master to thrive in the 21st century global workforce.
